Is there any sort of focus on filtering through backlinks with higher PR? I've never understood this about linkwheels, are they just diversifying a bunch of different backlinks that are all worth pretty much the same thing? I realize it doesn't look natural to have only a bunch of PR5 backlinks, but what does this method have over say, creating profiles on a bunch of forums?

Vins, good question, the example link wheel was from a Silver package, less than 37 total links, making the keyword variation important in the other silver packages we conducted.

For our Platinum package, where we build 119 backlinks, we can't use a single keyword, whereas the smaller packages it isn't as necessary to vary the keywords.

Hello, why is that your example about web 2.0 linkwheel about the pregnancy calendar all of your outbound links in the spokes have the same keyword
Pregnancy Calendar"? then you said it should have some keyword variations? thanks

Linking landscape is constantly evolving. Your strategy seems much more thoughtful than some others I'm seeing. I like the emphasis on quality over quantity.

I am curious to know if Google still frowns so harshly on PayPerPost.

Obviously these require more work, but they have much better results and it makes it a lot harder for Google to find out that they are non-organic back links, which is always a good practice.
